Standard Chartered: Other ETFs Will Be Launched Next Year
The next major phase for exchange-traded funds is expected to start in 2025. SOL and XRP are expected to be the next cryptocurrencies in line, according to Jeffrey Kendrick, head of research at Standard Chartered.
He clarified that for other coins such as SOL and XRP, the markets are eagerly anticipating the arrival of their ETF. However, Kendrick believes that this may not be a possibility until 2025, rather than 2024.
Kendrick also noted that the approval of Ethereum spot funds indicates that the SEC does not consider Ethereum as a security, allowing the door to open for other cryptocurrencies like ETH to enter the traditional sector.
According to the analyst, regulators may have a difficult time classifying other blockchain technologies as securities, as they are similar to Ethereum.
He also believes that the support for digital assets in the US is a significant development in the industry, and the question now is not whether there will be further regulatory changes, but when they will occur.
