Crypto Exchange OKX Receives a Crypto License in Singapore

On September 2, it was announced that OKX Singapore, a subsidiary of the global cryptocurrency exchange OKX, has obtained a Major Payment Institution (MPI) license from the Monetary Authority of Singapore (MAS).

This license allows OKX SG to provide digital payment token and cross-border money transfer services for customers in Singapore, including spot trading of cryptocurrencies.

Gracie Lin has also been appointed as the CEO of the company. Lin has prior experience as the Deputy Director and Head of Money Markets at MAS and has also held positions at major companies such as Grab and GIC.

She holds degrees from the University of Chicago and Yale University.

Lin stated:

“Singapore is a world-class hub for digital assets and a key market for OKX. I am excited to join the team that is building our presence here. The MPI license is a significant milestone for us and we are more dedicated than ever to making digital assets accessible to our customers and contributing to the community and ecosystem.”
