Ripple Plans to Add Smart Contracts to XRP Ledger

Ripple has announced plans to integrate smart contracts into the XRP Ledger (XRPL) developer ecosystem. This move is expected to create numerous opportunities for users, developers, and entrepreneurs.

The goal is to entice developers to leverage the expanded capabilities of XRPL. According to Ripple, the smart contracts feature will be accessible through the XRPL Ethereum Virtual Machine (EVM) sidechain in the coming months.

Additionally, Ripple plans to make smart contracts available on the XRPL mainnet, although the firm is still in the research phase and has not provided a specific timeline for implementation.

Smart contracts eliminate the need for intermediaries, enabling efficient and secure handling of transactions and agreements.
