Circle Partners with Sony Block Solutions Labs to Expand USDC Adoption

Circle has joined forces with Sony Block Solutions Labs to promote wider adoption of USDC on Soneium, the blockchain platform developed by Sony’s blockchain division.

The collaboration, announced on Sept.15, will integrate the Bridged USDC Standard on Soneium and establish USDC as a primary token for value exchange on the platform.

“This partnership is a major milestone that will pave the way for a new era of innovation in the Web3 space,” Circle stated.

Soneium is a layer-2 public blockchain based on Ethereum, launched in August 2021 by Sony Block Solutions Labs. The division is a joint venture between Sony Group Corporation and Startale Labs, with a goal of building a new network infrastructure using distributed ledger technology.
