Kraken Buys Dutch Crypto Broker BCM 

Kraken has successfully acquired Coin Meester B.V. (BCM), one of the oldest registered cryptocurrency brokers in the Netherlands.

This acquisition not only aims to strengthen Kraken’s operations as a registered Virtual Asset Service Provider (VASP) in France and Poland, but also to expand its presence in the Netherlands.

In preparation for the implementation of the Markets in Crypto-Assets Regulation (MiCA), Kraken has been aggressively expanding in Europe over the past two years.

According to Managing Director in Europe, Brian Gahan, this acquisition marks a significant milestone in Kraken’s expansion efforts in Europe.

With this acquisition, Kraken now has the ability to offer VASP services directly or through partnerships in several European countries, including Germany, Spain, Italy, the Netherlands, Belgium, Ireland, France, and Poland.
