US ETFs’ Assets Exceed $10T

The total assets of exchange-traded funds (ETFs) in the United States surpassed $10 trillion for the first time on Friday, driven in part by inflows of over $20 billion into cryptocurrency ETFs in the year 2024.

This information was revealed by Bloomberg Intelligence and fund researcher Morningstar. According to Bloomberg, investors have put in approximately $691 billion into US ETFs in 2024, with cryptocurrency ETFs making up around 3% of this total.

Bloomberg’s senior ETF analyst, Eric Balchunas, predicts that ETFs will reach $25 trillion in the next ten years, noting that they usually double in assets every 5 years, but this time it only took 3.7 years.

Among crypto funds, the iShares Bitcoin Trust, managed by BlackRock, was on top with inflows of over $21 billion since January, according to Bryan Armour, director of passive strategies research at Morningstar.
