xG, the NFT project for grassroots sports announces plans to develop on Flow
xG is the new NFT collectibles platform that rewards grass-roots football players with NFTs for their in-real-life achievements. If you score a goal, or run a 10k in a league or event where we’re active – you’ll get a personalised NFT Reward to add to your collection.
Today xG announced they are going to build the platform on Flow – famous for being the home of some of the highest profile sports NFT projects like NBA Top Shot, NFL All Day and La Liga.
xG NFTs will be personalised for each grass-roots player based on their real life performances.
Jim Harrison, xG Founder, said: “You can think of xG as a collecting experience for athletes – like NBA Top Shot – but for your own performance-related moments – with a collecting journey unfolding alongside your in-real-life football activity. Our mission is to build memories for our communities and celebrate alongside them.”
Earlier this week xG’s board of advisors was joined by Nedum Onuoha, ex-Manchester City and QPR defender and now BBC pundit. Nedum said “The thing that interests me about xG is the use of innovation to incentivise and reward football at a grassroots level. I can see how the next generation of players would find xG an enhancement to their experience of the game.”
Web3 studio Future Romance have joined xG as Creative partners, to build the NFTs at the heart of the gamified collecting experience. Hugo Boesch, the Founder, was recently part of the creative team that collaborated on Adidas’ Into the Metaverse’ project featuring Punks Comic and Bored Ape Yacht Club.
The mobile-ready sports app is in development as part of the Launchpool Labs incubator programme – with a post fundraising roadmap to run beta-trials in football and running this summer and expand into new sports and territories in 2023.
