Wormhole Team Pays White Hat Hacker $10 Million for Discovering a Bug
The team of the project Wormhole has paid $10 million to a white hat hacker who has discovered a critical vulnerability in the cross-chain protocol, Immunefi platform, which has launched the corresponding bounty program, has reported.
According to the press release, a specialist under the nickname satya0x discovered on February 24 a vulnerability in the basic smart contract of the Ethereum Wormhole bridge which could potentially block users’ funds.
According to the statement made by Immunefi:
“The Wormhole team was surprisingly quick to respond to the bug report, investigating and fixing the issue the same day it was reported. User funds were not lost.”
The hacker has received $10 million for identifying the bug.
