VC Investments in Crypto Firms Falls by 26%
According to a study published last week by PitchBook on venture capital investments in the crypto business in the second quarter of 2022, the volume of capital investments fell to an annual minimum, amounting to $ 6.76 billion in April-June.
Crunchbase, which has released a similar study, claims that in the first half of 2022, venture investments in crypto companies fell by 26% compared to the same period last year.
In January-June 2021, a business focused on the blockchain industry was able to raise $12.5 billion in venture capital, while this year this amount was only $9.3 billion. At the same time, the number of transactions in the industry, on the contrary, increased from 456 to 534, the researchers note.
In Q2, about $4.2 billion in transactions were completed. The crisis in the global stock market led to a sharp reduction in venture capital funding for the IT industry.
