Kosovo Extends its Ban on Crypto Mining

The government of Kosovo has approved the introduction of emergency measures in the field of energy supply, relating, in particular, to crypto mining.

From August 1, the authorities of the country extended the ban on mining for 60 days, and also obliged all institutions in the country to switch to economical consumption of electricity.

The decision has been adopted in connection with a sharp increase in energy import prices and a ban on the export of fossil materials from a number of EU countries.

In the future, restrictions may be extended for a period of 30 to 180 days.

The Kosovo authorities declared in December a state of emergency in an attempt to deal with the curreny energy crisis.
