Iran Allows the Use of Cryptos to Pay for Imports
The Central Bank of Iran allowed in April last year the country’s financial institutions to use digital currencies to pay for supplies from abroad.
However, local commercial banks received the right to use only those Bitcoins and other virtual coins that were mined by local miners.
Now it has been reported that the head of the Iranian Ministry of Commerce, Reza Fatemi Amin, has said that cryptocurrencies can now be used to pay for any import, primarily when buying components and equipment for industrial sectors.
According to the agency, the use of digital currencies in such transactions will be massive in September.
