Interpol Forms a New Unit to Fight Cryptocurrency Crimes

Interpol intends to strengthen the fight against crimes related to digital assets and help other countries in this direction, according to the Secretary General of the organization Jürgen Stock.

At a press conference on the eve of the Interpol General Assembly in New Delhi, the official has noted that the lack of a legal framework for cryptocurrencies creates serious problems for law enforcement agencies. He has said:

“Very often the agencies are not properly trained and equipped.”

According to him, Interpol has created a division headquartered in Singapore the purpose of which is to provide the authorities of other countries with the necessary assistance in the fight against cryptocurrency crimes.
