Australia Will Not Regulate Crypto Exchanges Until mid-2024

The Australian government has moved the deadline for the legalization of cryptocurrency exchanges and blockchain services to 2024, allowing for more time for study.

Over the next 12 months, the Australian Treasury plans to hold several rounds of negotiations with representatives of the crypto sphere, and in mid-2023 will publish a consultation document to solicit comments from businesses and the expert community.

If a bill is not agreed upon in 2024, it may be pushed back to 2025, though the government will strive to speed up the process.
