Coinbase Head of Exchange Leaves Company After 2 Years

Vishal Gupta, a former vice president of Goldman Sachs and head of USD Coin for stablecoin issuer Circle, is reportedly leaving his role as head of exchange at Coinbase after over two years.

Gupta intends to remain in the crypto space, potentially starting a new project related to digital assets or blockchain.

Gupta’s reported departure comes at a time when Coinbase is facing legal and regulatory scrutiny.

In March, Coinbase received a Wells notice from the US Securities and Exchange Commission, and is supporting plaintiffs in a lawsuit against the US Treasury Department’s Office of Foreign Asset Control.
