Gemini to Open Second Headquarters in Ireland
Crypto exchange Gemini has decided to establish a second headquarters in Dublin, Ireland due to the country’s reputable regulatory system, deep talent pool, and accomplished technology community.
Cameron and Tyler Winklevoss, the founders of the platform, has reported their decision to Prime Minister Leo Varadkar in a meeting, expressing how Ireland proved to be the obvious natural choice.
With the pending passage of the Comprehensive Cryptoasset Market Regulation (MiCA) bill in Europe, they anticipate an unprecedented level of growth and innovation.
Gemini’s move to foreign countries is prompted by an increase in US regulatory pressures.
In June of 2022, the US Commodity Futures Trading Commission sued Gemini over purported Bitcoin futures contracts, and in January of the same year the Securities and Exchange Commission accused the platform of selling unregistered securities.
