Vitalik Buterin Makes Proposal for Sustainable Development of Ethereum Ecosystem
Vitalik Buterin, the co-founder of Ethereum, has outlined his vision for the future of the second largest cryptocurrency by market capitalization with a recently released roadmap.
He specifically identified three core components as essential for maintaining Ethereum’s permissionless and decentralized infrastructure – namely, L2-scaling, wallet security, and data privacy.
Buterin argues that without effective scaling measures, Ethereum fees will skyrocket in bull markets, which will cause users to migrate to centralized alternatives.
As for wallet security, Buterin believes that it is critical to prevent potential security issues from compromising users’ non-custodial asset storage.
To this end, he suggested wallets based on smart contracts with security features such as “social recovery.”
