Nasdaq Updates BlackRock’s Bitcoin ETF Listing Application
Nasdaq and Coinbase have reached a preliminary agreement to list Coinbase as a joint market watch partner on the updated Form 19b-4 for BlackRock’s Spot Bitcoin ETF.
The SEC had previously issued a warning to Nasdaq and Cboe regarding the applications for the spot bitcoin ETFs, deeming them not “clear and comprehensive.”
Form 19b-4 was then amended by Cboe, while BlackRock submitted a co-surveillance mechanism.
Bernstein analysts have expressed their opinion that the SEC cannot maintain its negative stance on spot ETFs related to Bitcoin for long, as the regulator has previously approved futures exchange-traded funds.
Circle CEO Jeremy Allaire also believes that the recent wave of applications for spot ETFs based on digital gold will lead to their eventual approval from the SEC.
