Malaysian Authorities Seize Illegal Crypto Miners
Sarawak Energy, Malaysia’s electricity supplier, discovered an illegal mining farm in Miri on the island of Borneo, according to local media.
The facility featured 34 ASIC miners linked to the network by rigging a cable.
The farm’s owners were illegally mining cryptocurrencies estimated to be worth RM6,000 ($1,300) per month, thus resulting in the confiscation of all devices.
Police are currently investigating the case, not long after the seizure of 137 ASIC miners by Miri city authorities.
Furthermore, over 1,069 ASIC miners have been destroyed during police raids in July 2021.
On July 26, a recalculation that saw the difficulty of mining the first cryptocurrency decrease by 2.94%, brings the indicator down from the high of 52.33 T.
