Paxos Pays $510,000 Fee in a Bitcoin Transaction
Paxos, a blockchain infrastructure company, has confirmed that they were responsible for a one-time error regarding the Bitcoin transaction with a huge commission of $510,000.
As reported by The Block, they have reached out to the mining pool F2Pool to request a refund, assuring that their customers and end users were not impacted and that all customer funds are secure.
This is the largest payment ever in dollar terms for the confirmation of a transaction, with 1,982,108,632 satoshi ($510,750) sent to miners for transferring 0.074 BTC (~$1800).
