BNB Chain Developers Unveil opBNB L2 Network Roadmap
The developers of the BNB Chain have released a roadmap for their second-layer solution called opBNB, which aims to enhance performance and decrease transaction fees on the network.
Their primary goal is to reach a transaction processing speed of 10,000 per second by the end of 2024 and reduce fees by ten times the current amount of approximately $0.005.
The reduction in costs will be achieved with the implementation of sharding and BNB Greenfield, which eliminates the need for permanent data storage on the main chain.
In addition, the protocol aims to increase performance by doubling throughput from 100 Mb/s to 200 Mb/s, making it one of the fastest second-layer solutions available.
The opBNB team plans to use an upchain architecture to make it easier for decentralized applications to be developed on the L2 network. They also intend to integrate the Multiple Proof system to ensure a more adaptable and secure environment.
