Bitfinex to Stop Offering Some Services to British Users

Bitfinex will be altering its products and services for specific customers in the UK in accordance with regulatory guidelines in the country.

This will impact all current individuals residing in the UK, as well as corporate customers who reside in the UK and do not meet any exemptions under the Financial Promotions Order of the UK.

Additionally, individuals who register for a Bitfinex account on or after November 1, 2023 will not be eligible for verification.

These changes will go into effect on January 10, and will prevent affected customers from making new deposits, entering into new contracts, or increasing existing margin positions.

However, customers will still have the ability to reduce or close their current positions and withdraw funds from the platform.

Bitfinex has stated that customers who are not exempt will receive a separate notification informing them that they will no longer have access to these features effective January 10, 2024.
