Donald Trump is Against CBDC in US
During a campaign speech in Portsmouth, presidential candidate Donald Trump promised to never allow the Federal Reserve to introduce a national digital currency (CBDC).
As reported by The Post Millennial, Trump highlighted the potential risks of “debanking” and using CBDCs as political weapons. “I, as your president, will never allow the creation of a central bank digital currency.
This would give the federal government complete control over your money, posing a dangerous threat to freedom. I will not allow this to happen in America,” stated the former US President.
Another Republican candidate, Vivek Ramaswamy, recently announced his withdrawal from the presidential race. In a statement, Ramaswamy acknowledged the clear support for Trump among the people.
He ended his campaign after Trump won the popular vote in the Iowa caucus and received endorsements from Florida Governor Ron DeSantis and former UN Ambassador Nikki Haley.
Ramaswamy is also a proponent of crypto assets, but he opposes CBDCs. Throughout the past year, the former presidential candidate has gained support from major players in the market, including Ryan Selkis, the CEO of Messari.
