Hong Kong Crypto ETFs Begin Trading

Today marks the launch of six new Bitcoin and Ether exchange-traded funds (ETFs) on the Hong Kong Stock Exchange, making them the first spot crypto ETFs in Asia.

The move follows Hong Kong’s efforts to establish itself as a prominent crypto hub.

The six ETFs listed on the Hong Kong Stock Exchange today are: Bosera HashKey Bitcoin ETF (3008.HK), Bosera HashKey Ether ETF (3009.HK), ChinaAMC Bitcoin ETF (3042.HK), ChinaAMC Ether ETF (3046.HK), Harvest Bitcoin Spot ETF (3439.HK), and Harvest Ether Spot ETF (3179.HK).

These ETFs were approved earlier this month by Hong Kong authorities and are managed by China Asset Management, Harvest Global, Bosera, and HashKey.

According to HKEX’s head of equities product development, Brian Roberts, the new ETFs will add diversity and liquidity to the Hong Kong ETP market, following the success of VA Futures ETFs.
