US President Issues Executive Order to Coordinate Crypto Regulation
Joe Biden, the current president of the United States of America, has just issued a new executive order that tasks federal agencies to coordinate their efforts in regulating the cryptocurrency industry, CoinDesk has learned.
According to the document, Biden’s administration has identified six “key priorities” the agencies should focus on, including consumer protection, financial stability, illegal use, leadership in the global financial sector, availability of financial services and promotion of innovation.
The order refers to the intrinsic volatility of digital assets as one of the main risks crypto investors face. In addition, the document has also unveiled that around 40 million US citizens have previously invested, traded or used cryptocurrencies.
