Twitter Launches a Version for Tor

Social network Twitter, which has recently been blocked in Russia, has launched a version in the Tor network.

Tor has reported that it has also been added to the list of officially supported browsers by Twitter.

According to The Verge, whereas users were able to access Twitter through Tor before, the new version adds additional layers of security and anonymity and is designed specifically for the network.

Alec Muffett, a developer who usually posts news about Twitter, has said that the tweet on the launch of the social network on the Tor network is “perhaps the most important and long-awaited tweet.”

The Federal Service for Supervision of Communications, Information Technology, and Mass Media of Russia blocked on March 4 access to Twitter and Facebook.
