An Attacker Hacks Deus Finance DAO and Earns About $3 Million
The DAO of DeFi protocol Deus Finance has been attacked. The profit of the hacker was about $3 million, including 200,000 DAI and 1,101.8 ETH.
Project losses could be even greater, PeckShield has reported. The Deus Finance team has confirmed the hack, but has stated the funds were safe and promised to reveal the details of the incident at a later date.
According to PeckShield, the attacker used flash loans for the attack. The hack was made possible by manipulating an oracle that determines the price in the USDC/DEI pair.
After the attack, the hacker sent funds in ETH to the Tornado Cash mixing service.
The price of the native token of the DEUS protocol has almost halved from the level above $400.
