Ukrainian Bank Suspends Bitcoin Purchase Operations

Local credit organizations have begun to stop operations with cryptocurrencies at the request of the National Bank of Ukraine. PrivatBank, the largest financial institution in the country, has become the first to announce such a decision.

The bank’s press service has noted that transactions with BTC paired with the hryvnia were subject to the restriction. This decision was made by PrivatBank against the backdrop of the legalization of the cryptocurrency market in Ukraine.

This week the President of the country signed a law on virtual assets, allowing exchanges and banks to legally carry out operations with digital currencies.

Operations to buy Bitcoins for hryvnia will be stopped due to the situation in the country.
