LG Adds Blockchain and Cryptos to Business Plans

South Korea-based tech giant LG Electronics has recently added blockchain and cryptocurrency as new areas in which it will focus its business, a local newspaper has unveiled.

According to sources, LG has officially added two cryptocurrency-related objectives during its annual general meeting held on Thursday. Some of the objectives include “the development and selling of blockchain-based software” as well as “the sale and brokerage of cryptocurrency.” The latter may make us think that the tech company may even explore the possibility to created its own crypto exchange.

An LG spokesperson has said when asked about the company’s intention to start its own exchange that “nothing has been decided yet. We just mentioned business areas in a broad manner.”

The media started to talk about LG’s possible plans to created a crypto-related marketplace earlier this year.
