Edward Snowden Reportedly Played Key Role in ZCash Launch
Former NSA and CIA officer Edward Snowden has revealed he was involved in the launch of the privacy-centered cryptocurrency ZCash, which took place in 2016.
He has unveiled this a video from Zcash Media, a media group that produces educational content about the coin.
According to the video:
“When you run ZCash, a cryptographic key is created that is used to lock the code that runs the cryptocurrency. After that, no one will be able to fake transactions.”
At the same time, users must trust the developer. To solve the problem, the ZCash team decided to share the key among six participants in the so-called “trusted installation.” If at least one of the owners of the fragment destroys it, the security of the network will be ensured.
