Instagram is Testing NFT Support

Select Instagram users will be able to use NFT as their profile photo starting this week.

Test participants will need to connect a digital wallet and select one to display on the NFT social platform. Commissions are not provided. Instagram has announced an update to its security policy to strengthen account and wallet security when connected.

Once the token is published, it will have a blinking effect and be able to display the associated public information from the blockchain. It is possible to automatically set tags on the collection and the owner of the token with the appropriate privacy settings.

Instagram has confirmed support for Ethereum and Polygon, whereas Flow and Solana will be added in the future.

Rainbow, MetaMask, Trust Wallet, Coinbase Wallet, Dapper and Phantom will be available for connection from wallets.
