Spotify is Testing NFTs

Streaming service Spotify is testing a feature that will allow musicians to promote their own NFTs.

Apparently, artists Steve Aoki and The Wombats are among the first to take part in the test, which is being conducted for select users of the Spotify app for Android in the United States.

Participants in the process can browse NFTs on the artist’s profile pages and then buy them on external marketplaces.

According to a Spotify representative:

“Spotify is conducting a test in which a small group of artists will be able to promote third-party NFT offerings through their artist profiles.”

The results of the experiment will help decide whether to offer this innovation as a full-fledged feature for all musicians.
