Group of Hackers Steals $438,000 From Beeple’s Twitter Account

The Twitter account of digital artist Beeple has been hacked and the attackers have used it to post phishing links.

Users have reportedly been invited to a website purporting to be Beeple’s partnership with fashion house Louis Vuitton.

harry.eth, a cybersecurity specialist from the MetaMask team, has noted that following the link led to an unauthorized withdrawal of funds from the user’s wallet.

Some time later, the hackers changed their tactics and published a new phishing link. As a result, the attackers received 100 ETH and 45 NFTs. In total, users have lost about $438,000 in assets as a result of the attack.

The account was controlled by the attackers for about five hours before he managed to return it.
