Ripple May Go Public Following End of Lawsuit with the SEC
Ripple will consider going public after litigation with the US Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) is over, the company’s CEO Brad Garlinghouse has said during the World Economic Forum in Davos.
At the end of 2021, the total annual volume of transactions on the RippleNet platform reached a record $15 billion driven by the popularity of the On-Demand Liquidity (ODL) service. The company has noted the Asia-Pacific region has become “one of the largest participants in the ODL dollar turnover.”
Ripple’s CEO has estimated the results of Q1 2022 at $8 billion and has noted the company continues to grow, for the most part outside the United States.
In March, RippleNet began to be used for international payments by National Australia Bank and Canadian Imperial Bank of Commerce, one of the largest financial institutions in Australia and Canada. And in May, the company announced it had entered into a partnership with a Lithuanian provider of international money online transactions FINCI.
