SEC is Investigating Crypto Exchanges for Insider Trading
The US Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) has just launched an investigation into insider trading on cryptocurrency exchanges, FOX Business reports.
According to a source familiar with the activities of the SEC, the regulator has requested information from one of the major platforms on measures to combat such practices. According to it, other exchanges have also received a similar notification.
FOX Business claims the SEC has started a review after the collapse of the Terra ecosystem. The media reported in early June on the SEC investigation into the algorithmic stablecoin TerraUSD (UST).
Law firm Hogan & Hogan partner Jeremy Hogan has said that the regulator’s request “makes sense given the SEC’s recent focus on regulating exchanges to protect consumers.”
