Cardano Puts Off Vasil Hardfork to July
Nigel Hemsley, head of the department of product integration of Input Output Global (IOG), has said that Cardano developers have put off the activation of the Vasil hardfork in the Cardano network, which was scheduled for June 29.
The update was scheduled to launch on the testnet on June 20. According to him, the IOG engineering team has not had time to fix all the technical problems, although they are “very close to completing the work.” Hemsley has said that none of the seven remaining errors are serious.
The IOG developers, together with the Cardano Foundation, will determine the new date for testing the hard fork based on three main criteria: absence of critical problems, acceptable cost and performance indicators and properly informing the community.
Hemsley has said:
“Working on Vasil has been the most challenging development and integration program to date. This is a complex process that requires not only significant efforts from working groups, but also close coordination across the ecosystem.”
