Coinbase Will Suspend ERC-20 Transactions During Merge Update

Coinbase, the largest US cryptocurrency exchange, has announced it will suspend transactions with ERC-20 standard tokens during the Merge update, which is scheduled for September.

The company’s press service announced last Saturday it will support the fork, which aims to complete the transition of Ethereum to the PoS consensus algorithm.

According to the trading platform, Coinbase will not process Ether and ERC-20 token transactions during the network upgrade.

However, the suspension will be smooth so that traders can prepare for the fork. Ten minutes before the start of the update, the exchange plans to suspend the operation of the Coinbase Cloud infrastructure.
