Netflix to Ban Crypto Ads
Streaming service Netflix plans to ban the promotion of cryptocurrencies in the new tariff plan with ads, The Sydney Morning Herald reports.
According to the publication, the restrictions will also affect videos related to politics and gambling. The company is also exploring the possibility of banning advertising of pharmaceuticals.
Netflix announced in April the launch of a cheap plan with support for partner videos. Representatives of the service explained the decision by the need to increase revenues against the backdrop of a decrease in the number of subscribers.
In July, the service announced the tariff would be launched in partnership with Microsoft. According to The New York Times, Netflix originally planned to launch the new version of the subscription in early 2023, but allegedly postponed the deadline to November 1, 2022.
