Jesse Powell Steps Down as Kraken CEO

Kraken co-founder Jesse Powell has just announced he is stepping down as CEO of the company.

According to the announcement, the platform’s current Chief Operating Officer Dave Ripley will take his place.

Powell has said:

“Dave is a proven leader and his experience gives me great confidence that he is the perfect successor and the best person to take Kraken through the next stage of growth.”

The co-founder of the company will take the chair of the board of directors. He has led the platform since it was founded in 2011 and remains its largest shareholder.

Powell has explained he has decided to step down as CEO to spend more time working on products and “protecting the interests of the industry.”
