Banking Giant JPMorgan Hires ex-Celsius Network Executive

Aaron Iovine, former head of policy and regulation at Celsius Network, has joined JPMorgan.

According to Bloomberg Law, the specialist got a job in the crypto lending platform in February and has hold his post until September.

At JPMorgan, he will lead the Digital Asset Policy Division.

Celsius Network suspended withdrawals, exchanges, and transfers between accounts on June 13.

A month later, the platform and some affiliates filed for insolvency under Chapter 11 of the US Bankruptcy Code. The platform’s liabilities exceeded its assets by $2.85 billion.

In August, the US Office of Trustees said there were “numerous questions” for the firm’s management. Prior to this, it was reported that the company CEO Alex Mashinsky had intervened in the implementation of the trading strategy of the crypto lending platform, which cost “millions of dollars.”
