Sui Network Releases a Test Network

Startup Mysten Labs, which was founded by former Meta engineers, has announced the launch of the test network of the first level blockchain Sui Network.

According to them:

“This is a huge step towards decentralization as the first instance of the Sui Network not only managed by Mysten Labs.”

The work of the testnet, called Wave 1, is focused on operators – the actual validators and those who manage full nodes.

The developers have said that the development of decentralized coordination and incident response are among the main tasks. They also plan to identify a key group of operators experienced in deploying, monitoring and debugging nodes.

They have acknowledge that they expect certain challenges and “learning moments” in the operation of the first version of the decentralized network. Wave 1 will be a temporary solution, it will be turned off after the objectives are achieved.
