Kevin O’Leary’s Twitter Account is Hacked and Used for a Bitcoin Scam
Some attackers have promoted a fake distribution of Bitcoin and Ethereum through the Twitter account of Kevin O’Leary, investor and star of the television show Shark Tank.
The hackers have claimed impersonating him that he had made “a lot of money” in recent years from cryptocurrencies and decided to give away 5,000 BTC and 15,000 ETH.
The scammers also said the investor had announced the event on CNBC the day before and his account was not hacked.
The fake posts were removed after a few hours.
The link promoted by the scammers to receive free cryptocurrency led to their website. The scammers presented it as O’Leary’s official platform for the distribution of digital assets.
