Gary Gensler Warns US Soldiers Against Investing in Bitcoin
Gary Gensler, head of the Securities and Exchange Commission, believes that the US authorities should ensure that citizens who invest in digital currencies are protected.
He has appealed to US military personnel not to buy Bitcoin and other virtual currencies. According to him, such instruments could collapse at any moment and their holders would suffer losses.
He has also acknowledged the growing interest of US soldiers in cryptocurrencies, although he considers the blockchain industry to be the “Wild West.”
He has emphasized:
“Most of those 10 or 15,000 tokens will collapse. Venture capital and startups have failed. So, we have the dollar, and Europe has the euro and they are more reliable.”
