Hong Kong to Release a List of Available Digital Currencies for Investments

The Hong Kong authorities plan to release a list of digital currencies in which local residents can invest in order to be able to protect investors.

The list of tokens available for purchase and sale will appear during 2023. The Securities and Exchange Commission Chair, Julia Leung Fung-yee, supports the initiative to build a list of highly liquid digital assets.

According to reports, non-professional investors will only be able to buy and sell virtual currencies that are considered safe by the authorities.

Fung-yee has said:

“We will establish criteria that will allow retail investors to trade only large virtual assets.”
