Norway’s Authorities Seize $5.9M Stolen from Axie Infinity

Law enforcement officers of Norway have confiscated $5.9 million stolen from the Ronin sidechain involved in the game Axie Infinity, the National Office for the Investigation of Economic and Environmental Crimes has reported.

They were able to trace most of the money together with the FBI.

The department has noted that this is the largest confiscation of cryptocurrency initiated by the Norwegian police.

North Korean hackers from the Lazarus Group used an exploit in the Ronin sidechain and withdrew crypto assets worth about $625 million in March 2022. The attackers laundered most of the funds through Tornado Cash mixer.
