Dapper Labs Announces 20% Staff Reduction
Dapper Labs, the company behind the popular blockchain-based game CryptoKitties, has announced it plans to cut 20% of its staff in light of the economic downturn caused by the coronavirus pandemic, which has put pressure on the company’s finances.
Dapper Labs CEO Roham Gharegozlou has said the decision was not taken lightly, but was necessary in order to ensure the long-term sustainability of the company. He has also thanked the employees for their hard work and dedication throughout the company’s growth, and has said the team remained committed to the mission of empowering people to capture and share value through their favorite digital experiences.
The layoffs are expected to affect all departments of the company, and will include both full-time and contract employees. The company has also implemented a number of cost-cutting measures, including cutting back on travel and limiting discretionary spending.
Despite the layoffs, Dapper Labs remains committed to its mission.
