Former Twitter CEO Jack Dorsey Launches a Bitcoin Mining Developer Kit

Jack Dorsey’s Block is working towards creating a universal, environmentally friendly system for open source cryptocurrency mining by developing a Bitcoin Mining Development Kit (MDK).

This MDK will include a hashing board, controller, firmware, supporting software and documentation, and is designed to provide developers with a set of tools to unlock their creativity and bring innovation to the mining hardware space.

The project has not yet been released, however developers were told to “stay tuned.”

Block has previously partnered with Tesla and Blockstream to construct a Bitcoin mining data center, estimated to cost $12 million. Additionally, Block announced earlier this month the launch of a division for the development of the Lightning Network micropayment network ecosystem, called with =.
