Coinbase Will Start to Accept Orders to Withdraw Ethereum from Staking 24 Hours After Shanghai and Capella Updates

In 24 hours after the activation of the Shanghai and Capella updates (collectively known as Shapella) on the Ethereum network, Coinbase will begin accepting orders for the withdrawal of ETH from staking.

The Merge, which moved the Ethereum network from Proof-of-Work to Proof-of-Stake in September 2022, has not yet allowed users to unstake ETH.

Shapella, scheduled to be activated around mid-April, will provide an upgrade. Coinbase will enable users to withdraw their cryptocurrency with no action required on their part, and at an annual yield of up to 6%.

However, due to the Ethereum protocol controlling the withdrawal process, there may be a queue of requests to be processed, which could take weeks or months.
