ZeroSync Will Launch Tools to Scale the Bitcoin Blockchain
The ZeroSync Association, located in Zug, Switzerland, is working on tools utilizing zero-knowledge proofs (ZKP) to scale the Bitcoin blockchain.
This project has the goal of allowing users to sync nodes without having to download the current 500GB of network data, and has already created a working prototype that allows the user to view the status and history of transactions.
ZKP brings scalability and privacy to Bitcoin, and is relatively simple to implement given the unspent balance of transactions (UTXO) model.
According to ZeroSync, this model does not require a consensus change and does not introduce additional trust conditions.
These tools will have a wide range of applications, and the Association is creating a stack of development tools to facilitate this.
