Ethereum Devs Active Shapella Hard Hork On Ethereum Blockchain

At 00:30 CET on April 13, the Shapella update was activated on the Ethereum main network, allowing users to withdraw their cryptocurrencies from staking.

The hard fork was finalized at epoch #194 048, with just a “couple of missed blocks”. According to parsec, the withdrawal of ETH from staking has already started, with over 3,100 ETH unlocked by validators.

Beaconcha.in reports that since the hard fork, the blockchain has processed withdrawals (partial and full) for 8835 ETH (~ $16.96 million at the current exchange rate), with the amount still growing.

Additionally, there are currently over 4,000 validators waiting to withdraw their ETH, and over 3,000 validators in the queue.
