1 Million Ether Withdrawn Since Ethereum’s Shanghai
Since the Shanghai hard fork of Ethereum went live on April 12 at block height 6209536, over one million coins of ether have been withdrawn.
This fork was part of Shapella, an upgrade package, and enabled Ethereum stakers to withdraw their rewards for the first time since Beacon-chain deposits were initiated in late 2020.
Currently, the total amount of withdrawn ether stands at 1.02 million coins, with 373,040 coins being deposited, yielding a net staking balance of -646,210.
Notably, 15% of the total ether supply is still deposited, amounting to 17.30 million ether, which is worth roughly $36.1 billion.
This includes the 877,880 ether that is pending withdrawal, with a total value of $1.84 billion.
